Tradition Restored: A Review of Winterfest 2023 Katherine Marshall (she/her)
Inquisitive about the beginnings of this yearly celebration in Union, I went into old Davidsonian archives when creating this profile of this January's Winterfest.
The idea for Winterfest originated in SGA in 2010 as an effort to bring "up the hill" and "down the hill" together, according to a 2012 February 1st edition of the newspaper.
While Winterfest was then organised by the Union Board, SGA, and PCC, this year's event was led by senior Laura Bullock, chair of the Concert Committee.
Two bands from New York City that have become more well-known in recent years played at Winterfest 2023: Quarters of Change and Laundry Day.
