NEW YORK — Tuesday night, a lot of San Diegans posted on social media inquiring about big bangs they had felt and heard from Kearny Mesa to Mission Valley.
The military was performing a planned training exercise, according to San Diego police, who verified this to FOX 5.
Camp Pendleton tweeted on January 27 that there would be a noise alert because of nighttime live fire training from January 28 to February 5.
Quinton Tarantino said on Twitter, "Anyone in San Diego experiencing these explosion-like sounds? heard as far south as Mission Valley and Kearny Mesa.
Another person reported seeing police sirens and helicopters.
