PM brings up gun trafficking and illegal immigration at discussion with US Vice President

To discuss a range of issues affecting The Bahamas and the larger Caribbean region, Prime Minister Philip Davis met with US Vice President Kamala Harris yesterday at The White House.

Yesterday, the United States reiterated its commitment to fostering alliances with The Bahamas and with the countries and people of The Caribbean.

The Prime Minister and the Vice President stressed the significance of both stepping up efforts to combat illicit marine migration during discussions of issues pertaining to our bilateral relationship.

In order to promote the island's economic recovery, the Prime Minister also stressed the significance of restoring pre-clearance facilities in Grand Bahama, according to the statement.

Additionally, it was mentioned that Davis, as Chairman of CARICOM, believes it is crucial for the US and other hemisphere-wide allies to support stabilisation efforts spearheaded by Haiti.
