KL Rahul gave India a hard-earned four-wicket victory against Sri Lanka in the second ODI as he shown some signs of form with a gritty half-century.

On a challenging surface, Rahul hit an unbeaten 64 off 103 balls as India successfully chased down a modest goal of 216 in 43.2 overs.

Vice-captain Hardik Pandya's 36 was the second-highest score for India.

Prior to that, Sri Lanka was dismissed for 215 in 39.4 overs, with 50 being scored by debutant Nuwanido Fernando.

For the hosts, Mohammed Siraj (3/30) and Kuldeep Yadav (3/51) had the best bowling performances.
